From February 2nd:
Isaiah 30:10-11
They tell their spiritual leaders,
"Don't bother us with irrelevancies."
They tell their preachers,
"Don't waste our time on impracticalities.
Tell us what makes us feel better.
Don't bore us with obsolete religion.
That stuff means nothing to us.
Quit hounding us with The Holy of Israel.
Hmm... kinda sounds like today...

From February 7th:
from Isaiah 41:5-7, in reference to those who make and worship idols...
They try to help each other out,
making up stories in the dark.
When we turn from God and try to find - or create - our own "answers" we are truly in the dark, simply making up stories...
also... from Isaiah 42:18-25, in reference to God's people who have received His Message not really paying attention...
You've seen a lot, but looked at nothing.
You've heard everything, but listened to nothing.
May we have eyes that truly see and ears that truly listen to God!

From July 12th's reading:
Psalm 5:3
Every morning
I lay out the pieces of my life on your altar
and watch for fire to descend

From August 2nd's reading (noted October 4):
Psalm 61:8
And I'll be the poet who sings your glory -
and live what I sing every day.
I read this while on the ECMT. Really want to live that verse out in my own life.

From August 5th's reading (Noted October 7th):
Various excerpts from Psalms 68-9 that stuck out to me...
"When the righteous see God in action, they'll laugh, they'll sing,
they'll laugh and sing for joy."
"Don't let those out looking for You come to a dead end by following me!"
(my heart's cry)
"I'm hurt and in pain.
Give me space for healing and mountain air."
(often a prayer of mine, in tears)

from September 15th's reading:
Lamentations 3:28-29
When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself.
Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer.
Don't ask questions:
Wait for hope to appear.
